Maspalomas in Gran Canaria hosts this celebration of World Tourism Day

Maspalomas in Gran Canaria hosts this celebration of World Tourism Day, organised by the World Tourism Organisation (WTO).
September 27 is World Tourism Day, and in Gran Canaria this year they are to celebrate it in style. The events on the day will feature an encounter with the authorities, and a special homage to tourists with a programme of .....
street activities during which free gifts will be handed out to visitors. What's more, all week long there will be musical performances and the chance to sample the typical gastronomy of the Canary Islands.
In addition, the congress will analyse the role of tourism as a driving economic force for the promotion of the use of renewable energies, under the title “Tourism and energy sustainability: drivers of sustainable development”.
